Why Do People Overeat?
Why do people overeat? Some believe it's lack of discipline or self control. In some cases that is true, but I think the REAL reason is the lack of nutrition.
Your body needs FOOD. It needs real, raw, organic, whole foods. When your body gets what it needs, there are no hunger pains. The reason so many of us are always hungry, yet overweight is because we are eating EMPTY chemical laden "foods." The "food" we are eating is not nutritious, so the body is not getting what it needs and it signals, "I am still hungry!" And we keep eating MORE of the same stuff that keeps them in starvation mode. It's crazy, but think about it. Empty calories are keeping us hungry and making us fat!
I recommend raw, healthy, organic, whole foods. They are easy to get and good for you. You will eat less because your body will be satisfied with what you are putting into it.
If you want great organic, raw food that is easy to eat and can take with you on the go, I would recommend Versative Pulse. Versativa Pulse is absolutely awesome tasting. It contains 26 whole raw foods. Versativa Pulse is hemp based. It contains hemp seeds that are an excellent source of protein, essential oils and amino acids. Find out more about Versativa Pulse and the history of hemp HERE.

Reasons for Weight Gain & Loss
How do people become overweight? How do people lose weight? The answer: One small consistent decision at a time!
I personally have lost up to 80 lbs. How did I do it? I made slight consistent decisions over time that added up to massive results. After losing that weight, people that I hadn't seen for a year didn’t recognize me. They were amazed! They saw the results and wondered how I did it. They were probably hoping that I took some magic pill or drink that produced rapid results. However that was not the case. It took me one year of making small consistent decisions that added up to that weight loss. I lost weight 1 once at a time over a long period of time.
Conversely, I gained all that weight back! How, by the same process: Bad decisions made consistently over a long period of time. It was just that extra helping. It was only an extra scoop of ice cream, that extra cookie. One slight consistent difference over a long period of time caused me to gain back those 80 lbs. It took me two years of little (BAD) decisions to gain all that weight back. It didn’t happen overnight. It happened because of consistent “little” bad decision over time. Would it have happened if I occasionally ate a dozen cookies? The answer is no. It’s those little subtle decisions that we make CONSITENTLY over a long period of time that do us in (repetition is the mother of learning :-))
So what is the true secret of weight loss? Decide! Make a decision and make little (good) decisions. Those little decisions we make consistently will add up to the weight loss you desire. I would add the need to get educated about food as well. Knowledge is power. Acting on that knowledge is awesome power! Learn what foods make you fat and what foods help to burn fat. Learn how to eat real food, raw, healthy, organic food that your body wants and needs. As a result you will eat what your body needs (more on that in another post) and lose weight doing so.
The Diet Solution Program is a very effective program that will give you the education you need to make those small, consistent (good) decisions that will add up to awesome weight loss. I would encourage you to listen to the videos and read the articles in this blog and get your own copy of The Diet Solution. It WILL change your life!
By the way, I am back on track to lose those 80 pounds forever!

Raw Signature Foods - The Best Foods You Can Eat
The best food you can eat is raw, organic, natural foods. It's the processed foods that are killing our nation. Cancer is at an all-time high! Why? Because we are eating too much processed foods. Processed foods usually contain chemicals and preservatives that are hard on our liver and difficult for our body to process. It is important to introduce as much raw unprocessed foods into our diet as possible.
Even the vitamins you get off the self at the drug or grocery store are chemicals; synthetic "vitamins." Most of the vitamins today were produced artificially in a lab. If you take vitamins, take only those that come from food sources, which means that they will be more expensive, but much better for you and easier for your body to assimilate.
We live in a rush, rush, hurry-up society and sometime don't have time to take in good nutrition. That is why I eat Versative Pulse. Versative Pulse is raw, organic. vegan, food with 26 raw ingredients. Because it is 100% food, that you body craves, you can get by with eating only a couple ounces to feel satisfied. Pulse gives you good raw food that satisfies your bodies need for nutrition and thus cuts down on hunger pains. The side affect: You lose weight!
The Diet Solution Plan recommends good raw foods for losing weight. It's a great plan and worth the price to learn how to eat and lose weight without starvation. There are no calories or points to count. Know what to eat and how to eat and you WILL LOSE WEIGHT!

Five Know Benefits to a Wheat-Free Diet
Have you ever heard of or considered changing to a gluten-free or wheat-free diet. You may not suffer from a wheat allergy or from Celiac disease, so what would it benefit you to go wheat-free? Let’s face it, wheat and wheat-based products are so ingrained in the American diet is it even possible to give it up?
Going wheat-free can be a challenge—but it’s worth it. Becoming educated about the food you eat is something I am growing passionate about. So if going wheat-free makes you stop and read your food labels, great! And there are other, more tangible benefits to going wheat-free. I’m going to list 5 reasons you should switch to a wheat-free diet below.
You may have an intolerance to wheat—but you don’t know it.
Studies show that Celiac disease is actually under diagnosed in the United States. Some estimate that only 1 in 3000 people are diagnosed, when in reality, 1 in 250 suffer from the disease. Wouldn’t it be worth your while to go off wheat for a period of time and see how you feel?
Does your digestion improve? Do you have more energy? If so, you may have wheat intolerance. A simple blood test can show the presence of antibodies in your bloodstream, and an intestinal biopsy can confirm Celiac disease. But simply eliminating wheat from your diet, and then seeing how you feel, is an easy self-test you can try on your own. And I’m all for self tests!
You may experience allergy relief.
Do you suffer from allergies? Eliminating wheat from your diet can help ease your symptoms. If you have dry, itchy skin, or suffer from hives, then eliminating wheat can have a positive effect on how you feel.
You may feel digestive relief.
If you experience gas, bloating, and water retention, eliminating wheat from your eating plan can really help with improving your digestion. Although we think that wheat is easy to digest, it’s actually hard on your intestines, and can cause sluggish digestion and even blockages. A wheat-free diet is a lot easier on your intestines than a diet that relies on wheat products.
A wheat-free diet can assist in keeping weight gain at bay.
If you want to really jump-start your weight loss, endeavor to keep wheat out of your eating plan for a couple of weeks. You may be surprised at the result. Many of the refined carbohydrates we eat without thinking (cookies, crackers, breads, pastas, and the like) are made with wheat. By getting rid of wheat in your diet, you eliminate these products by default from your eating program, which can help you achieve your weight loss goals.
Your joints will be thankful.
Studies show that gluten is often an instigator for joint pain in the body, as it weakens our bodies’ natural defenses. If you suffer from joint pain or have a family history of arthritis, you can keep your joints feeling better—and thus stay more active—by eliminating gluten products from your eating program.
When trying to eliminate wheat from your diet, be sure to read the labels of every food product you eat. Even seemingly innocent foods, like soy sauce, contain wheat. So if you are truly going gluten-free, endeavor to read about everything you eat, before you consume it.
Want to get healthy, but don’t know where to begin? The Diet Solution Program can get you on the right path and keep you there. Our recipes are all friendly to a wheat-free diet, too!

How to Keep Hunger at Bay
Let’s make sure we get one thing straight from the outset. When you’re dieting, you shouldn’t ever feel hungry. In fact, if you are hungry, you should consider eating more. The perfect diet plan for weight loss isn’t about starving yourself, or depriving yourself of the essential foods you need to function at your prime.
In fact, it’s not even about counting calories—and if you follow my blog, you know how I feel about calorie counting. Instead, the right way to eat healthy means switching out the foods that are bad for you, and replacing them with foods that are good for you.
But even if you don’t reduce your food intake by that much, you may have an adjustment period as you begin to shed belly fat. It’s really more of a mind over matter thing than real starvation. If you’ve been used to eating large quantities of the wrong kind of food, you might go through a kind of withdrawal period once you begin eating healthfully.
So are there any ways to combat these hunger pains, without giving in to the urge to binge? Absolutely! Let’s look at a few techniques you should incorporate into your diet plan to lose weight:
Drink Your Water
First and foremost, you should be drinking plenty of water once you start your eating plan. In fact, you should be drinking at least half your body weight in ounces of water per day. So, for example, if you weigh 160 pounds, you should drink 80 ounces at a minimum per day.
Not only will water help flush toxins from your body, it can help combat edema and water retention. Need an even more compelling reason to drink water? Your body can often misinterpret thirst for hunger, actually causing your stomach to growl.
So before you reach for something more to eat check to see how much water you’ve had to drink. If you haven’t had enough for the day, drink plenty of H20 before you have anything else to eat.
Eat Healthy Fats
Yes, you can eat fat while you are on a diet. Does this mean you have my permission to run out and devour a bucket of fried chicken? Wishful thinking, but the answer is no.
You need to eat plenty of healthy fats, which are MUFAs or PUFAs, while you are dieting. These healthy fats will help contribute to a feeling of satiety between meals, as well as give you the essential fatty acids you need to function at your prime. Healthy fats include olive oil, organic butter, coconut oil, raw nuts, nut butters, and avocadoes.
Eat Lots of Fiber
Everyone knows that including high amounts of fiber in your diet helps while you are trying to reduce your weight, but no one really seems to know why it’s important. Well, there are two reasons.
Fiber keeps you from becoming constipated, which can happen when you make a sudden dietary change—even if that change is for the better.
Fiber helps you feel full more quickly, and helps you remain that way between meals.
As a rule, you should consider including a serving of fiber with every meal, even snacks. In fact, I usually recommend you include your favorite type of green vegetable with meals, such as a salad or celery sticks.
Stay Active
While exercising doesn’t have much to do with what you put in your mouth, it can have a huge impact on the success of your eating plan and how hungry you feel. I’m not a fan of long hours on the treadmill, as you probably know. In fact, I prefer shorter workouts with more interval training and strength training thrown in because I feel it gives you more bang for your buck.
But no matter how you choose to get and stay active, you should know that it will make your metabolism more efficient, allowing you to continue burning calories several hours after your workout has ended. So while you are working on eating a better diet, find ways to incorporate active movement into your daily routine. You’ll train your body to burn calories more efficiently over time.
The Diet Solution Program was designed with one focus in mind: to help people learn to eat better and thus transform their lives. If you want to learn more about how to lose weight without feeling deprived, consider downloading my program today!

The Four Components of a Health Eating Plan
Most people admit to feeling a little overwhelmed when it comes to developing a healthy meal plan. In fact, I would guess that’s the biggest reason why most people fail when it comes to a diet of any kind. If it’s too complicated or too difficult, there’s no way you are going to stick with a plan for weight loss. And that’s where most diets lose you—there’s always a mile-long list of what you can eat and what’s forbidden. Or you have to count calories and carbs, which means you have to jot everything down in a book.
Let’s be realistic—none of that is going to happen long-term when you are busy and always on the go.
I like to break down my healthy meal planning into four blocks. If you incorporate each of these four blocks into your daily routine, at every meal and every snack, then you have mastered the Diet Solution Program. Sound too easy to be true? It’s no gimmick—just plain common sense that takes the guesswork out of eating right to lose weight. Here are the four components you should use with every meal:
Vegetables
As you were growing up, I bet your parents told you to “Eat your greens!” As with most of the things our parents tried to teach us, this healthy eating tip is absolutely true. You should incorporate a serving or two of veggies with every meal and every snack.
They will provide you with essential vitamins and minerals your body needs. They also contain fiber, which will help keep you regular and also helps to keep you feeling satiated between meals.
Remember that foods like corn and peas are actually not vegetables, but legumes and grains. Limit your intake of those, and opt for vegetables like lettuce, spinach, kale, celery, and peppers instead.
Healthy Fats
Did you know that organic coconut oil is actually a healthy fat?
You should absolutely eat fat with every meal, and I am including snacks in this as well. Healthy fats are MUFAs or PUFAs that give your body the kinds of essential fatty acids you need to thrive. Healthy fats can also help you feel satiated between meals, which is what helps you to stay on the straight and narrow with your healthy eating plan, resisting the urge to binge eat. Healthy fats include olive oil, organic butter, coconut oil, raw nuts, nut butters, and avocadoes.
Water
Water should be your go-to beverage of choice while making the healthy eating switch. In fact, you should be drinking water not just with every meal, but between meals as well. The old adage about drinking 8 glasses of water per day is outdated. Instead, you should be aiming for half your body weight in ounces of water per day—more than that if you work out.
Why so much water? Studies show that most Americans are slightly dehydrated. Dehydration can actually register in the brain as hunger rather than thirst. So by drinking enough water, you are keeping your body from feeling hungry, and that keeps you from eating more food than you should.
Protein
If you’ve read my blog for any length of time, you know that I am a big believer in the power of protein. That’s why it’s an essential building block of a healthy diet and should be included in every meal, even snacks. Protein provides your body with essential amino acids you need for neural and cognitive processes. In addition, it has a stabilizing effect on your blood sugar, evening out those highs and lows that can cause you to eat everything in sight.
Not all proteins are created equal, though. I am a fan of whole organic eggs, all-natural cuts of meat, raw nuts, and nut butters. Stay away from fatty sources of protein, meats that contain nitrites or nitrates, and soy products. Those types of proteins can be detrimental to a healthy diet.
Building the perfect meal is easy when you follow the Diet Solution Program. Simply build these four nutritional blocks into every meal and snack, and you should begin seeing results in no time at all!
Healthy Eating Plan vs. Dieting-Which One Do You Like?
When it comes to losing weight and keeping it off, a healthy eating plan trumps dieting every time. Why? Because nutritious eating is a lifestyle change whereas dieting is short-lived. If you’re torn between going on a diet and following a healthy eating plan, here are some reasons to choose the latter.
A Healthy Eating Plan Helps You Learn About Nutrition
Losing weight is not just about looking good in a pair of jeans; it’s also about improving your overall health. Diets that suggest you drink only liquids or eliminate carbohydrates or fats are hogwash. Our bodies are fueled by the nutrients in the foods we eat. Any diet that requires you to eliminate some of the most important foods will ruin your health.
Poor nutritional health contributes to diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, cancer and other life altering health conditions. Most of the foods marketed by manufacturers as “healthy” aren’t healthy at all. Nope. Not even a little bit.
If you don’t know what to look for, it’s easy to believe that frozen dinners, nutritional shakes, snack bars and other processed foods are alright to eat. When you opt for a healthy eating plan instead of a “diet,” you learn to make every calorie count by choosing foods that give you the best nutritional bang for your efforts.
Diets are Restrictive, Time Consuming and Confusing
Measuring food, counting calories and reading labels are time-sucks you can do without. Healthy foods are low in calories so there’s no reason to measure (although you still need to eat sensibly), use charts or count calories. Seriously, who has time to do this stuff? I certainly don’t, and I’m guessing you don’t either.
This diet tells you to sip shakes all day. That diet tells you to do away with all fats. Another diet advises you to kick carbs to the curb. And finally, you’re roped into believing that eating frozen diet meals for the rest of your life is A-O-kay. Confusing, right? Unlike a traditional diet, there is nothing restrictive or perplexing about a healthy eating plan.
When you learn which foods are actually good for you, you can use them to create healthier versions of the foods you love. Take for instance the blueberry pancake recipe I sent out in one of my newsletters. Instead of using white flour or pancake mix, the recipe creator used rolled oats and a few other healthy ingredients.
Once you learn how make nutritious meals with the foods that make you weak in the knees, you will never feel restricted in what you can eat.
A Healthy Diet Produces Long-term Results
Most diets are considered “fad diets” for a reason. They don’t stick around because they are just not realistic for long-term use. I mean c’mon. How long do you think you’ll be able to adhere to a juice only diet? Even if you do manage to shed a few pounds, more often than not, you’ll gain the weight back.
We won’t even discuss the nutritional deficiencies you may face when you follow diets that prohibit (or severely limit) carbohydrates, fats, and other essential foods. Your health is your most precious asset. Protect it at all costs. Following a healthy eating plan is the best way to enjoy permanent weight loss results without sacrificing your health.
Let the Diet Solution Program teach you how to drown out the fad diet noise so you can feel confident in your ability to lose weight for good. A healthy eating plan doesn’t consist of a diet that tells you not to eat fruits and vegetables, find out why!
